Reborn features an evolving day and night cycle designed to create a constant sense of time moving forward throughout the world.

Time now progresses linearly upon death. Rather than reverting to the morning of the following day, death advances time naturally to the next hour.

Combined with extensive lighting overhauls across every region, the visual distinction between dawn, noon, dusk, and midnight is dramatic. Sunsets burn with deeper saturation and harsher contrast, while nights are significantly darker and more oppressive. Different biomes and weather conditions further alter the atmosphere through unique color palettes, lighting behavior, and environmental tone.

The passage of time also directly influences the world’s dangers. Aberrations and the rising Deathtide become increasingly active depending on the hour. During the day, golden aberrations manifest more prominently beneath the light of the Erdtree. But as darkness falls, crimson and death-touched aberrations begin to emerge, hunting Tarnished who move carelessly through the night.

As the hours pass, the Deathtide rises. During the early night, encounters with crimson or death-touched aberrations remain relatively uncommon. However, by the late hours, the tide reaches its peak, transforming entire regions into hostile territory where holding ground against the encroaching force of death becomes increasingly difficult.
